Climate

The climate of the Slovakia can be described as typical European continental influenced climate with warm, dry summers and fairly cold winters. The weather is best May-September, when days are warm and the nights are cool, although it rains more in Spring than in summer.

Living Standards

Slovakia is considered a high-income advanced economy. Following the return to democracy, the country underwent a challenging transition to a market economy and the privatizations of most industries are now complete. Substantial regional differences exist, however, in wealth and employment. Slovakia or the Slovak Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe. The cost of living in Slovakia is pretty balanced, with the average monthly salary of around 800$ and a monthly rent of approximately 400$ for a one-bedroom apartment.

Living Expenses

A one bedroom flat can be rented for around 700-900 euros per month, and this can be shared by 2-3 students equally, thus reducing the overall cost. Food cost together with transport etc. cost around 300-400, and depending upon the sharing aspect can be reduced. So with all the above aspects, we can safely assume that a student will need around 700-900 euros per month for all his living expenses.

Average Fees

Slovakia provides for higher education for its students at no charge. Costs for higher education in Slovakia for foreign students can range from 2,000 to 8,000 USD per school year. This is for tuition only.
